We are looking for a Sr Software Engineer to join our team! The project is within the Digital Agriculture industry and is based in San Francisco, CA. Their platform examines weather, soil and field data to help farmers determine potential yield-limiting factors in their fields. As a Senior Software Engineer in our client’s engineering organization, you will guide the architecture and design of their platform. You will be accountable for the design, technical stewardship of existing and next-generation APIs and Platform Services. You will drive the platform architecture that facilitates the sharing of quality farm data with our platform partners.

About the team

The team is responsible for ensuring accurate, scalable, timely acquisition and delivery of data for agricultural equipment to manage in field activities.   We are looking for engineers excited by the opportunity learn and improve agricultural processes, production while decreasing carbon production.

Requirements

• BS, MS or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field

• 3+ years of experience programming with OOP languages.

• 5+ years experience programming in Java or an equivalent OOP language.

• 5+ years hands-on experience developing scalable backend services and platforms.

• 5+ years experience designing and implementing REST APIs.

• Experience writing automated test code using a practice, such as, test driven development.

• Experience building microservices with Java.

• Experience with relational and non-relational databases and persistence store.

Nice to have

• Experience with Clojure and/or Scala.

• Working knowledge of at least one Identity and Access Management protocol and technology: OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, Federation, SSO, etc.

• Experience using SQL in application and analytical models.

• Experience working with Docker/containers/Kubernetes.

• Excellent team communication and collaboration skills.
